Onager

Equus hemionus

The Onager lives in deserts of southwest Asia, in herds of 10 to 20 individuals that include only one adult male. These equids communicate by vocal, tactile and chemical means. The pregnancy of a female takes around a year after which a single foal is born. The mother takes care of it for up to two years, protecting it from dangers.
